Bracing for a New England Winter Storm

12 - 30 inches of snow is coming says the forecast!   One of the important reasons for working from home is that I can take care of my family, animals and home and not miss a day of work!  Firewood loaded in the house and cellar this year (4 wood stoves to tend) Chicken run has been shrunken to the winter size, fish pond and duck pool have been emptied and winterized.  Now it's time to bring the bunny tractor into the big barn (one of my least favorite chores since its sooo heavy) Everything gets accomplished in between office...

Spectacular Sweet Annie Harvest

No year is ever the same in gardening and this year was Spectacular for my Sweet Annie!!!  It completely took over my entire "herb garden" that I created from the old barn foundation.  It's amazing how a tiny seed can turn into a sweet annie TREE!   Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua) is the most beloved Primitive Herb!  It's earthy, herbal, sweet fragrance is almost intoxicating.  I am so obsessed with this plant that wherever it decides to grow (driveway, walkway, garage floor....) I can't bring myself to pull it out of the ground.  This drives my husband crazy!   haha Over 100...
